Inspiration to break your routine

Having a routine is not a bad thing; it is reassuring and secure. And, we have to admit it, not everyone likes to live in a daily "surprise" life or to take risks.

However, while comfort is perfectly fine, breaking your routine can be refreshing and give you a boost. Be open-minded and try it!

Breaking your routine can be as easy as changing the time when you go to the gym. Not every routine is similar to another one but still, I'm sure you will find something here that will help you break your routine.

-Busy bee and unable to relax? Take a moment to totally waste your time! What ever you want to do, do it!

-Change your schedule!  If you can arrive to your work at the time you want to, instead of arriving at 8 a.m., try 9 a.m.!  You wake up at 6 a.m.? Wake up a little bit earlier to go outside watch the sunrise and listen to the birds.

-Talk to a new person; either at your work place, at school or over the internet.

-Be more open to last-minute invitations; you never know what you could me missing.

-Used to do overtime but not feeling at your top shape? That day, refuse to work after your regular hours and go to the movies, take a drink with some friends or go for a walk.

-Disconnect yourself from the outside world! Turn off your cell phone, your land line, don't answer the door, turn off your computer and do what you feel like.

-Wanted to try a new recipe but not enough confident in your skills? Well....try it! You'll never know if you can make it unless you try.

-If you take the same route everyday, try a new one.

-Surprise someone!

-Take a day (or 2..3...depends on you) and live with excess. Drink champagne, go to a 5* hotel, go to a 5* restaurant, etc. It can be really fun!

-Not eating breakfast? Eat a good one for a change!

-Used to go clubbing...but for some reason you have stopped? Dress yourself up and go fire the dance floor.

-You have always wanted to learn how to paint?  Or maybe you would love to know how to dance salsa? No matter what it is, take a class! Depending on what you would like to learn, there are courses or workshops that are only once, for a few hours, while others extend over a much longer period.

-Instead of taking all your breaks inside, go outside. Go for a small walk or, if you're close to park, go sit on a bench and relax.  Enjoy the moment, sense the breeze, breathe, smile...

-Have been in a long relationship and want to spice it up a bit? Try new lingerie, new location to have sex, a sex game, do a strip-tease or a new position maybe?

-Try a new sport! You're not the ''athletic'' type, then try to meditate!

-If you have kids, sometimes it can be a little harder to break your routine. However, breaking your routine with your kids involved can be as refreshing for you as it will be for them. Go to the movie on a school night or pack a picnic, put your roller blades and go picnic to the park!

-Try to listen to music you're not used to.  You might be surprise...maybe you would like it!

-Try a new haircut...or a new hairstyle.

-Call up a old lost friend!

-Ask someone to recommend one of their favorite books and read it.

-Don't feel like going to work? Then don't! Take a day off!

-Be veggie for a day!

-Try a new place; restaurant, museum, store, library, etc.

-Change your decor.

There are many other ways you can change your routine; try to inspire yourself around you...Ask your friends, family or co-workers how they do it! Research on the internet!

No matter how you will do it, think about this experience as a new way to help enhance and empower yourself and your life.  Not only you'll be happier, you will also be less stressed and will tend to be less depressed as well.
